Panning For Gold

Posted on

You may already know what I mean by panning for gold – or not.  Either way is fine – if you already know, this’ll remind you and hopefully get you doing it.  If you don’t know – great – you can now get to know and enjoy it.

All those people all that time ago rushed to seek their fortunes gold panning.  They took large flat sieves and scooped up the silt from rivers, patiently washing it through and through.  Then they picked out every little speck of gold – as well, of course, as the big chunks.  It all went into a leather pouch they wore on their belt and, when it was full, they deposited in the bank.  I guess it’s those people the American dream is based on.

Every day, just before you go to sleep. re-view your day, almost like watching a film of it.  And pick out every bit of gold.  There will be tiny bits   – a joke shared with a passing stranger.  Bigger bits – a phone call or email from someone in particular.

And there may be great big chunks.  Either write them down in a gold notebook or with a gold pen or just do that in your head.  March is, I think, the perfect month to start panning for gold with the spring flowers popping up and crisp blue skies.  The more you do it the more miracles and treats you’ll notice quite naturally every day.

Brazil, Minas Gerais state, Ouro Preto, gold nugget from a mine (Gold Route, Estrada Real)

The more you do it the more miracles and treats you’ll notice quite naturally every day.

A warning:  don’t be one of those gold panners who hung out to find the seam or the fist sized nugget, dismissing anything less.  It’s their bones that littered the plains…
